On the heels of some wildly unsatisfying 6-second Vine teasers released this week on the Game of Thrones Twitter account finally comes something we can really sink our teeth into!
The Game of Thrones season 4 trailer debuted last night just before 9pm – and this thing is juicy. Packed with whinging Joffrey, wildlings at the Wall and a glimpse of Prince Oberyn Martell, Dorne’s dangerous Red Viper, season 4 looks to be just as good as the previous seasons.
Check it out for yourself and decide what you think:
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I like winter. I do! But waking up to temperatures like this:
Bitch, PLEASE. I’m so chilly just sitting here in my room, in fact, that I’ve been inspired to go trawl YouTube for a compilation of bad Mr. Freeze puns. Y-your w-w-welc-c-come…
If you’re turned off by the title of this post, don’t blame me – it’s right from the song. Having refreshed my Mario Kart 64 and Star Wars Episode I: Racer skills on my own console last night, I knew as soon as I saw this that more people needed to see this.
In this soon-to-be holiday classic, Brian Firenzi of Video Game High School fame lays down a stoic beat about the intense desire for an N64 under the tree at Christmas. And while he may have missed the sleigh this year, there’s always next to hope for, yeah?
Also, why aren’t there more N64 raps out there?
One of the best animated (and underrated, in my opinion) movies is finally getting its sequel!
Normally I’m not a fan of stitching instalments onto movies just because they perform well. If it’s going to happen, it should be planned for from the outset – but unfortunately, this is not the way the world works.
Regardless, Dreamworks has a pretty good reputation for putting out good animated stuff, so I’m counting myself excited. With a stellar cast, including Jay Baruchel, Cate Blanchett, Gerard Butler, Jonah Hill, Djimon Hounsou, Kit Harington, Kristen Wiig and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, How to Train Your Dragon 2 is looking like an epic, cling-to-your-dragon adventure. Check out the full trailer below:
In the life of every game, there is a gamer that gets bored with following the rules. Stories can get tired, thoughts wander, and eventually people wonder how many dump trucks it will take to stop a train.
A freight-bearing, mechanical beast of a train.
So, doing what gamers do best, 10 peeps got together in GTA 5 Online and tried to figure it out. Ummm… so is a bridge really the best place to stage this? How many dump trucks does it take to stop a train? Will this saying replace the classic ‘Why did the chicken cross the road?’
With less than 3 weeks to go to opening day, Warner Bros. has released a 3-minute sneak peek of what the The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will have to offer.
Through mists, mountains, Masters and muttering, we see a bit more of Middle Earth and the characters in it fleshed out. It’s well-known that the franchise is delving far deeper into this period of history than the book did – way deeper. It’s a simple equation, really: more history = more movies = more money. A truth I’m trying to politely avoid while attempting to get lost in the story.
Lake Town’s Bard makes his first appearance in this instalment, as does Evangeline Lily’s mysterious Tauriel. We even see a split-second shot of a lumbering Beorn. So despite some personal problems I have with the first movie, I’m still holding out hope to be captivated by a kind of magic that doesn’t come out of a wizard’s staff.
…but I might settle for that too. THE SNEAK PEEK:
In the middle of the fairy-tale-to-big-screen movie trend, it was really only a matter of time before we saw Maleficent happen, I think. We’ve seen the story from Sleeping Beauty’s view (and, uh…yawn?) but now we get to see the big bad herself, twisty horns and all.
I’ll be the first to come out and say that I’m not always the biggest Angelina Jolie fan… but holy dixnballz is this casting amazing. I literally can’t think of anyone else who’d be more perfect for the role. I also think I just cut myself on those cheekbones.
P.S. This brings back SUCH big Kingdom Hearts jeebies…
I never really played with dominoes as a kid… but I’m kind of wishing I had now. Big time. YouTubers Millionendollarboy and Hevesh5 sure did, and they’re still doing it. The thing is, they’ve sort of graduated from a few cheap tricks to something that can only be described by this YouTube comment:
Yeah! These two have spent 3 months putting together a video of INSANE domino tricks all using wicked chain reactions in ways that will totally surprise and make you smile. The video didn’t get over 5 million views in 3 days for nothing. CHECK ‘ER:
With the popularity of podcasts, radio plays have once again caught the public’s attention – especially the spooky variety. What’s that? Halloween’s over? NOT IN THIS BLOG, IT AIN’T.
Now, if only all the best stuff was all in one place…
Ba Bam (Ba-Boo)! Done.
And don’t forget to check out The Monster Club, an amazing collection of old sci-fi and horror radio plays. Happy Just-After Halloween, everyone!
Those of us who have played in a symphony orchestra or music group of some kind know that a lot of the time, you play…well, non-pop music. Music you really wouldn’t dance to (though there are some catchy waltzes out there). And while you respect the music, you wish you could sink your teeth into stuff that’s a little bit more fun.
The members of the Ohio State Marching Band don’t have this problem – at massive football gatherings that might dwarf even the mighty San Diego Comic-Con, they get to do something AMAZING – play outrageously fun music AND dance. Kind of. Or at least paint a bigger picture for the lucky, lucky audience.
Check out this video of their Hollywood Blockbuster show, and I guarantee you’ll be amazed at the kind of stuff they come up with. Word has it they also have a phenomenal Video Game show too…
