re: shooting at Colorado screening of The Dark Knight Rises
I just found out about this terrible tragedy. I can’t believe that this happened, these people were at their most vulnerable, they were completely taken by surprise and were totally helpless. My heart is very sad for their losses and for the trauma that everyone in Colorado is now left feeling. Even the people that made it out alive will never sit in a theatre again without being reminded of this terrible experience. This man robbed them of that and stole the lives of the families that are now left to bury their loved ones or struggle through rehabilitation.
When the all too real line between fiction and reality blurs, and someone preys on innocent people without remorse or care, it reminds me that we need heroes to remind us that we need to be strong in the face of adversity. Just as real mad men idolize anarchists and villains, we too can be inspired by those that stand guard as protectors, incorruptible and vigilant – we can, and must, all be heroes.
