So, I had my drinks date with Dave tonight…and I got home in time for the Daily Show. It wasn’t a terrible date, but we just ran out of steam pretty fast. What amazed and surprised me is that we have so much in common! I dunno what happened. Maybe I was tired, or just not feeling super conversationy? Either way, I didn’t feel like staying for more than one drink.
Bust city.

Maybe your subconscious made you leave early because you’re still stuck on Tim
no comment. ;)
Here’s a thought: it’s a misconception that two people will hit it off because they have “so much in common.”
What’s actually more important are the differences between the people. Or, to put it another way: What do Dave (or Tim) have — that you don’t — that you find intriguing about them?
Does he like making costumes? Does he enjoy cooking (as opposed to dining out)? Does he have opinions on things (like, for example, BSG) that you disagree with? Does he have a take on FWBs that he could argue with you about?
I just feel like it’s much easier talking to Tim. We “get” each other. He’s silly, and fun, and doesn’t take himself too seriously…but he also has had random angry outbursts which I don’t have (which intrigue me because I tend to keep my anger sorta repressed I guess). I’m not sure exactly what it is about him that attracts me. I’ll have to think more on the subject.
As for Dave…I dunno. I guess I could give him another chance and maybe try to dig a little deeper? But, is it bad that I don’t really want to?
